Dear Friends,

In a few short weeks the nomination meeting for the new Federal electoral district of King-Vaughan will be called. This is your opportunity to participate and help ensure your voice is heard in Parliament.

I am seeking the Liberal nomination because of my passion for public service, my belief that the citizens of King-Vaughan deserve a representative with a proven track record of positive results, and my confidence in the Liberal Party to deliver the best approach to leading Canada to a better future.

I have had the privilege of serving both the residents of Vaughan as Regional Councillor and the residents of King as a representative on the York Region Council for the past four years. During my term I have been a strong advocate for the environment, for responsible transportation supported growth and for fiscal accountability. I have a proven track record as a high-energy individual committed to community service and to building partnerships that achieve results.

Having earned a degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Princeton University, I went on to spend 22 years with Bombardier Aerospace. Throughout my career in engineering and management, I was respected for my leadership abilities, guiding teams in solving complex problems.

I was proud to serve the Province on the Greenbelt Task Force and on the Oak Ridges Moraine Foundation Board for four years after leaving Bombardier Aerospace. I am honoured to have received several awards for my community work, including the 2005 Province of Ontario Service Award. I am married with two sons and I live in Vaughan.

The Liberal Party, led by Justin Trudeau, has the best vision to guide Canada in building a positive and robust future. His collaborative approach with all levels of government is the right way to help build a better government and move Canada forward. The Liberal party is taking this nomination period as an opportunity to renew and energize the team and to ensure that it connects more closely with communities across Canada. I see this as an opportunity to be part of a re-energized team and to be a strong voice for King-Vaughan. Together we can ensure our issues are heard and addressed as we continue to build a more prosperous Canada for all.

To participate in the nomination process you need to

  • Live in the new riding, and
  • Sign up to become a Member of the Liberal Party.

Once you are a member of the riding, you will be eligible to vote in the upcoming nomination meeting. Please contact me so I can meet with you, your family, friends and neighbours to listen to your concerns.

Given my proven track record of working with people from across party lines, my strong record of public service, my knowledge of the issues facing the riding and my ability to start campaigning full-time the day after the nomination election, I am the best candidate to win King-Vaughan in 2015.
